The State Revenue Service (the SRS) has carried out considerable improvements in servicing foreign investors. Several solutions have been developed to help foreign entrepreneurs to better orientate themselves in the Latvian tax system and the range of SRS services. Special focus is placed on an individual approach and high level service standards.

One of the main factors influencing the decision of investors to develop entrepreneurial activity in a certain place is the confidence in the ability of an enterprise to operate within a particular tax system and reliance upon constructive cooperation with public authorities.

Acting Director General of the SRS Dace Pelēkā: “No doubt that the State Revenue Service is a significant link in the chain for the attraction of foreign investors, therefore it is our task to create as positive an experience for them as possible. We have devoted a lot of work and energy to develop a high-level standard in servicing foreign entrepreneurs, and I am confident that such openness and comfort will be duly appreciated.”

The developed standard provides an individual consultant for each and every large foreign investor. The SRS website is also elaborated, supplementing it with the Section Invest in Latvia (in English) and Инвестируй в Латвию (in Russian). When planning to commence entrepreneurial activity in Latvia or refreshing the already existing knowledge, foreign entrepreneurs can find concise and easy-to-understand information about the taxes and services provided by the SRS in these Sections.

The financiers and accountants of the enterprises contact the SRS on a daily basis, by means of the Electronic Declaration System (EDS). For the language of the site not to become an obstacle, improvements have also been introduced to the EDS of the SRS. Integrated new support function - computer-aided translation service offers users an English and Russian translation of the EDS interface.

Questions of interest in English or Russian may be addressed, as well as an on-site consultation may also be applied for by writing to the SRS to the following dedicated e-mail address: InvestinLatvia [at]
