The State Revenue Service (SRS) has gradually resumed on-site client services in Riga and other Latvian cities since June of this year. Outside Riga, this takes place by appointment only, but in Riga, clients could wait in a queue outside the building. However, considering the rapid increase of Covid-19 morbidity in Europe and the arrival of cooler weather that increases the risk of infection, starting October 5, the SRS Riga customer service center at Talejas iela 1 will provide on-site client services by appointment only by calling 67120005.
The SRS client service center in Riga, Talejas iela 1, accepts visitors from 9:00 to 17:00. On Mondays, client service hours will be extended to 19:00, but on Fridays, clients may visit until 15:00.
SRS Director General Ieva Jaunzeme notes that the switch to pre-booked on-site client service was made because there is still sufficient interest in Riga for personalised SRS service, resulting in people waiting in a queue for a long time. “First, it is inconvenient for the clients themselves, especially given that a large number of them are seniors. Secondly, we are aware that such queuing can pose epidemiological risks. If both of these problems can be addressed proactively, I see no reason not to do so,” said Jaunzeme.
Considering the safety of clients and employees of the institution, SRS reminds residents that they can receive all SRS services electronically through the SRS Electronic Declaration System (EDS) https://www.vid.gov.lv/en/electronic-declaration-system. Clients can receive SRS consultations by calling the SRS help line at 67120000 or in writing in the SRS EDS section “Correspondence with the SRS”. Please note that when calling the SRS help line, clients can also receive a personalised consultation as long as they are connected to EDS and identify the code on their screen.
However, if a face-to-face consultation is absolutely necessary, SRS invites clients to reserve a meeting for on a specific day and time by calling 67120005. Due to safety and precautionary requirements, clients will not be served without prior appointment.
Outside Riga, on-site client service is available in Liepāja, Ventspils, Daugavpils, Valmiera, Jēkabpils, Jelgava and Rēzekne on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:00 to 18:00. Please check the location addresses in the “Contacts” section of the SRS website.
On Mondays and Thursdays, SRS consultants are available at the state and municipal unified customer service centers in Bauska, Tukums, Aizkraukle, Smiltene, Gulbene, Valka and Alūksne. Business hours and addresses of these client service centers are available at https://www.latvija.lv/en/pakalpojumucentri.
When visiting SRS client service centres, please be careful and responsible and observe all state-defined precautionary measures: stay 2 metres apart, disinfect hands, and observe respiratory hygiene and other conditions for your own safety and that of others. Please do not visit the SRS if you exhibit signs of respiratory illness or if your are in voluntary self-isolation, home quarantine, or strict isolation.
