Currently, the Electronic Customs Data Processing System (EMDAS) is not available, which significantly affects the customs clearance process of goods. At present, it is not yet possible to predict the time for the system to be restored, but intensive work is underway to ensure the restoration of the system as soon as possible. The reasons for the technical disruptions are unknown. This will be clarified, but currently all resources are primarily being devoted to restoring the system as soon as possible.
Information about postal items
Considering that the EMDAS malfunctions also affect the customs clearance of postal items and that people cannot submit import customs declarations, we are contacting VAS “Latvijas Pasts” and courier service providers with a request not to charge customers for storage fees and not to send back undeclared goods.
Information for entrepreneurs
Considering that the EMDAS malfunctions affect the customs clearance of goods, if necessary, customs declarations can be formed in the fallback mode. The forms to be used in the fallback mode are available on the SRS website .
