Starting from 4 February 2026, travellers will be able to receive customs approval at the Customs Approval System (CAS) Self-Service Kiosk located at RIX Riga Airport for goods purchased using the Tax Free service - the goods can be purchased not only in Latvia, but also from SIA “Global Blue Latvija” partners in Estonia, Italy, Lithuania, Finland and Sweden and are intended for export outside the European Union.

Last spring, the CAS Self-service kiosk was installed at Riga Airport, in cooperation with the State Revenue Service, SIA “Global Blue Latvija” and VAS “Starptautiskā lidosta “Rīga””. There, natural persons from third countries and territories whose permanent place of residence is not in the European Union can independently receive customs approval for goods purchased in Latvia using the Tax Free service.

In order to expand the service, SIA “Global Blue Latvija” has made changes to the digital solution and now offers travellers at Riga Airport the opportunity to electronically confirm special sample receipts issued by the company's cooperation partners in Estonia, Italy, Lithuania, Sweden and Finland for goods exported from the European Union.

The digital solution CAS is used at all border crossing points and provides the opportunity to issue export confirmation of goods online, thus ensuring an efficient value added tax refund process.
