Any natural or legal person who owns or represents certain intellectual property rights may ask the customs authority to protect them by submitting a request for action and informing the State Revenue Service (hereinafter - SRS) of their intellectual property rights (trade marks, design samples, patents, copyright, etc.) and detailed signs of discovering counterfeit and pirated goods.
In the case of confirmation of the request, the SRS shall take enhanced customs control measures within a year to prevent violations of the intellectual property rights claimed. The applicant may extend the term of protection of property rights to the next 1 year by submitting an application for an extension of that term.
No fee shall be charged for the examination and approval of the request. The costs incurred by the SRS in connection with the detention and storage of goods, as well as the costs of destruction thereof, shall be borne by the recipient of the service at the request of the SRS.
